Given the unprecedented times we find ourselves in, I wanted to take this opportunity to update all of Premier Forecourts & Construction’scolleagues, customers and those in our supply chain on what we are doing as a business in response to the challenges presented by COVID-19.
We have been monitoring the impact that COVID-19 is having on our business closely and following government advice. Because of the important role we play in transport, public safety and construction, our staff are classed as key workers under government guidelines. As such, we remain open and working and we continue to support our clients on sites across the UK while taking all precautions to keep our staff and customers safe.
On March 31, 2020, we received further guidance from The Rt Hon Alok Sharma MP the Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy. It stresses that, while people should work from home where possible, those working in construction can continue to travel to their place of work on the advice of the Chief Medical Officer.
In partnership with the Construction Leadership Group, the government has developed new Site Operating Procedures (SOP), which align with guidance from Public Health England. At Premier Forecourts & Construction we have read these and will be implementing them into all its working practices immediately.
The Secretary of State also thanks the construction industry for supporting the country and the economy in the letter. He describes the UK construction sector as a “hugely valued and critical contribution to the resilience of our Nation and I salute you for the enormous efforts you are individually undertaking to support the UK economy.”
In that spirit, I would also like to take this opportunity to thank all of our staff, clients, suppliers and other stakeholders for their dedication and understanding in such challenging times as we navigate this challenge together.
We continue to follow government guidance and I believe we will get through this if we work together and support each other. I hope everyone working with us remains safe, healthy and I encourage you all to continue to follow appropriate guidance issued by the government.
