Staff ‘Step into Spring’ and raise funds for charity

We are proud to announce that our latest charity venture ‘Step into Spring’ was a resounding success, with the staff at Premier Forecourts and Construction raising an impressive £270 for the charity Marie Curie.

Marie Curie has provided hands-on care and vital emotional support for people living with a terminal illness and their loved ones for over 70 years. In the last year alone, nearly 3,000 registered nurses, doctors and other healthcare professionals helped over 50,000 people.

The charity offers the reassurance of specialist care and support, in a friendly, welcoming environment, across nine hospices, for people living with a terminal illness and their loved ones around the UK.

Marie Curie’s four core values: compassion, leadership, valuing all people and being an agent of change resonate with us, so our employees decided to support them in a safe and distanced way by participating in the charity’s fundraising initiative, Step into Spring.

Step into Spring challenged participants to take 10,000 steps every day throughout the month of March – for a total of 310,000 steps. Seven members of our team took part, with the support of our whole team every step of the way. They chose to Step into Spring by walking during work, taking strolls in the evening and sometimes even walking on the spot while watching TV! It was an excellent way to support a great cause and get active at the same time.

The team really stepped up, recording a massive 2,310,269 steps between them and averaging 330,000 steps per person – we think they thoroughly earned the £270 they raised!
