We place huge value on experience, loyalty and the people who help shape our business over the long term. This year, we are proud to celebrate a significant milestone for Ashley Davies, Head of Compliance, who is marking 15 years of continuous service with the company.
Ashley joined the business in 2011 as Health and Safety Manager, bringing with him extensive hands-on experience gained from working as a pipefitter on power stations and refineries across the UK, alongside a strong background in health and safety management.
Over the past 15 years, Ashley has played a pivotal role in strengthening the company’s standards, systems and governance. Reflecting on his time with the business, he highlights several achievements he is particularly proud of:
“There’s too much to narrow down to one thing. From achieving our first accreditation with Safe Contractor and then continuing to add other accreditations, including ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 standards — all of which have improved our management systems — to adapting our on-site management system from a paper-based approach to an electronic, cloud-based system. Being part of the management team has also enabled me to grow professionally while contributing to the current performance and future of the business.”
Now operating in the newly created role of Head of Compliance, Ashley oversees compliance across all areas of the business, building on the disciplines and foundations established through the ISO journey. He leads a growing compliance function encompassing environment, sustainability, quality and cross-departmental reporting, providing assurance to directors and stakeholders alike.
Ashley has also overseen the successful implementation of Procore, streamlining health, safety, environmental and quality (HSEQ) management while improving project delivery across the business.
For Ashley, it’s the culture and people that have kept him at Premier Forecourts & Construction for so long:
“In short, it’s a great place to work. The healthy working environment and safety culture we’ve built over my time here, and the appetite to continue to improve, are what keep me motivated. We employ good people who all work towards maintaining a healthy and safe working environment. I’m fortunate to report to the Managing Director, Steve Evans, whose values are aligned with mine, which makes my role much easier.”
Looking ahead, Ashley is excited about the future of both the business and the wider industry:
“As the industry has evolved, the company has continued to adapt to ensure we remain at the forefront of delivering to our customers’ needs. With the introduction of EVs and the development of new fuels, the future for the business and the wider industry is exciting. The business still has a lot of potential, and I’m excited to see us fulfil that potential.”
Ashley’s 15-year milestone reflects Premier Forecourts & Construction’s ongoing commitment to high standards, continuous improvement and long-term investment in its people.
