Quantity Surveyor

As a Quantity Surveyor at Premier Forecourts and Construction, you will report to the Commercial Manager and collaborate as part of a five-member commercial team. You’ll take ownership of multiple projects simultaneously, working closely with clients, suppliers, and other construction professionals. 

We’re seeking an individual who can bring their expertise and energy to the team. Ideally, you’ll have:

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying
  • Two years or more post-qualification experience in building and civils
  • Demonstrated knowledge of constructions and civil engineering principles
  • Ability to budget, schedule, negotiate and control costs
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office 365 packages and a developed understanding of construction industry software packages, in particular, we use; Evaluate | Sage Construct | Procore

 

  • A team-oriented individual who contributes at an operational level
  • Supports the business in delivering its Vision, Mission, and Premier Values

Reactive Maintenance Technician

As a Reactive Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for delivering prompt, effective responses to a wide range of forecourt and building maintenance issues throughout the UK.  You will respond to reactive maintenance requests within agreed timescales, covering a variety of tasks, including, but not limited to, building fabric repairs, carpentry, fencing, window/door installation, and shuttering with a strong bias for plumbing repairs, such as fixing or replacing taps, sinks, pipework, toilets and associated fittings.

SMSTS Site Manager

We are recruiting for a number of SMSTS Manager roles, ranging from Working Foremen (operationally hands-on Team Leader) to Senior Site Manager.

Key responsibilities Include:

  • Management of day-to-day operations on site including the initial site set-up
  • Implementing Premier Quality, Environmental and Health & Safety Management procedures at a site level
  • Monitoring daily productivity, including sub-contractors, resource levels and quality of works in progress
  • Monitoring progress against a programme of works and advising Management of any potential programme delays or concerns
  • Keeping projects on track and liaising with other construction professionals, clients and sometimes members of the public.

Seeing the finished project, such as installing EV chargers and seeing customers using them as we leave.

Along with protein shakes and coffee, I pick up whatever I can, when I can.

Best part of the job?
I like getting stuck in. I was on a carpentry apprenticeship but wasn’t really learning. Premier is different, I take pride in the job, I like being busy and finishing concrete just as it should be is therapeutic!

Everyone is friendly, we have a laugh every day, we all get on, which is great when working away in the week.

Chili con carne and rice. Any time of day or night.

Best part of the job?
I started as a Groundworker and have been a Site Manager for about 8 years. Premier put me through my SMSTS and now I work with people, show them the ropes, and they can progress like I have.
