At Premier Forecourts and Construction, we take great pride in recognising the hard work, commitment and loyalty of our team. Few embody these qualities more than long-serving site manager Chris Hannify, who this September celebrates an incredible 15 years with the company.
Chris first joined Premier back in 2009, bringing with him nearly a decade of experience as a sub-contractor for Welsh Water, where he specialised in laying sewer lines, pipework and underground tanks – the perfect foundation for the demanding and varied work he would go on to lead at Premier.
Over the years, Chris has seen both his responsibilities and the company itself grow significantly. Starting out managing smaller teams on regional projects, he now oversees some of our largest and most technically challenging construction sites, consistently ensuring high standards, safety and efficiency throughout.
One of the recent projects Chris is most proud of is the Tesco Culver House Cross development – a 14-week job that received excellent feedback from all parties involved. Managing the site from start to finish, Chris helped deliver a highly coordinated and efficient project that came together exactly as planned. The strong collaboration on site, combined with a smooth finish, made it a particularly satisfying achievement.
Reflecting on his journey, Chris says that the variety of the work and the satisfaction of problem-solving remain as motivating as ever:
“No two sites are ever the same – each project brings its own challenges, and that’s what I love about the job. Seeing a complex site come together, knowing the hard work and teamwork that went into it, gives you real pride. It’s even better when you can see the positive impact the finished work has on the local community.”
That community focus remains close to Chris’s heart. From forecourt refurbishments and infrastructure upgrades to bespoke commercial builds, many of the projects he’s managed have provided essential services and local jobs across the UK.
Just as importantly, he says, it’s the people that make Premier special. Working closely with his brother, Sean, and best friend, Gareth, Chris continues to value the camaraderie that defines the Premier team.
“It still feels like a family. Everyone supports one another, from the guys on site to the management team. The company’s always been about looking after its people and helping them progress – and that’s why so many of us stay.”
Away from work, Chris enjoys spending time with his partner Julia and son Callum, now 25, and socialising with friends.
As Chris celebrates this milestone, all of us at Premier would like to thank him for 15 years of outstanding service, dedication and leadership. His professionalism, positivity and team spirit are a huge part of what makes Premier Forecourts and Construction the company it is today. Here’s to the next chapter, Chris – and to many more successes ahead.
