Groundworker Christian is celebrating 10 years’ service with Premier, having joined the company on October 3, 2011, as a labourer.
During his time with us, Christian has steadily worked his way up from his original role as a labourer and completed a Level 2 NVQ Diploma Groundwork and General Construction qualification.
He now also has seven years’ experience driving excavators and dumpers on-site, as well as a vast knowledge of what is required to get the work done on time to our high standard.
Before joining us, Christian spent 13 years working in the warehouse at Hovis – the bread and flour producers.
Christian says that the best things about his job are his colleagues and the travelling – particularly where it gives him the opportunity to see different areas of the UK that he might not otherwise have visited.
“I enjoy working with the boys and getting to see a bit of the country. This life isn’t for everyone because you spend a lot of time away from home, but as long as you make the best of it, you can enjoy the work and meet new people.”
When Christian does get home, he likes to spend as much time as possible with his wife and six children. He explained: “Because of the length of time we’re away on-site, when I get home, I just want to see the family and spend quality time with them.”
Christian is looking forward to seeing how the business develops in the future as we work with our clients on electric vehicle charging.
“We are very busy at the moment – on both the traditional petrol and diesel forecourts, but also on the increasing number of EV charging facilities. This means that we have got plenty of work going on, and also a variety of work as EV charging facilities develop further.”
