£400 raised for Mates in Mind

A massive £400 was raised for Mates in Mind in collaboration with The West End In Concert.

Andrew Simeons, Creative Director takes the West End in Concert production on tour every year with a helping hand from his dad Garry Lewis. Garry is one of our valued employees and helps Andrew out with floor management throughout December. This year we are getting involved in supporting the production by providing transport for the equipment.

Andrew normally hires a van to move the production around the UK, but unfortunately this year there was very limited availability. It was decided that the funds could be put to better use, and Andrew has kindly donated £400, towards a charity of our choice (Mates in Mind) in return for the use of a Premier van.

Who are Mates in Mind?

Mates in Mind empowers hundreds of organisations across the UK to tackle silence surrounding mental ill-health and embed a positive culture change within these workplaces. Mates in Mind is a registered charity and was founded in partnership with the Health in Construction Leadership Group (HCLG), with support and administration from the British Safety Council. The aim of the charity is to provide a consistent approach within the industry, which will help improve and promote positive mental health.

What do we do to support the cause?

We have been a long-term supporter of Mates in Mind and have the same drive to improve the mental health and wellbeing of workplaces. We are striving to address the stigma around mental health and to ensure that we are supporting our workforce, we are committed to raising awareness of mental health with our ongoing campaign.

In an effort to detect the early signs of mental health issues we appointed and trained three mental health first aiders, which allows them to provide initial help to someone suffering from mental health issues. We always encourage conversations about mental health and want our staff to understand when, where, and how they can get support. Remember, it is ok to not be ok.

Our mental Health First Aiders are;
