We are delighted to congratulate our Group Human Resources Manager, Jackie Towell, on recently celebrating her 10-year anniversary with the company. In her role, Jackie also provides HR support to Premier Service Ltd.
Jackie joined the company in February 2012, after her father-in-law pointed out the job advertisement for a Contracts Administration Manager, we had placed in the South Wales Evening Post newspaper.
Jackie’s decision to apply for the vacancy was in large part due to her desire to work closer to home, following 15 years in positions that saw her travelling extensively across the UK and beyond. Having previously worked in the clothing, finance, vehicle and food packaging industries, Jackie also thought a move into construction would add a new sector to her experience.
Jackie’s 40-plus-year career has seen her work for large multi-national companies, most notably GE Capital and Tetra Pak, where she fulfilled senior HR roles, including Compensation and Benefits Manager for UK, Ireland, and Northern Europe.
Her move to join Premier Forecourts and Construction was, therefore, quite a change.
Jackie explains:
“Having previously worked for large global companies, it was very different working from a unit in Carmarthen, but I got the job and was welcomed by everyone, despite my Mancunian accent.
“The job developed rather quickly, I had worked in Human Resources for several years, so after putting some new administration processes and procedures in place I moved into the HR Manager role.
“So much has changed in the 10 years I’ve been with the company, in particular we have implemented our Premier Values and achieved Investors in People Gold Accreditation. We are a company that lives and believes in our values, and we are a company where everyone’s ideas are listened to.”
Like so many of Premier’s staff, Jackie cites her colleagues as one of the best things about working at the company: “I enjoy working at Premier mostly because of the people, we have a knack for employing really good people that want to be here and make a difference.”
Congratulations on passing 10 years with us, Jackie, we thank you for your professionalism, friendship, and loyal service, and we hope there will be many more happy and successful years to come!
